Carol Butrón, filmmaker and CEO of AURA Pictures, participates in the Radio 3 (RTVE) programme Que parezca un accidente to talk about the award for Best Short Film for FAITH at the Philip K. Dick Festival in New York.
On January 25, Carol Butrón talked with José Manuel Sebastián Campo -Que parezca un accidente, Radio 3 - to tell what it was like to receive the award for Best Short Film for FAITH at the Philip K. Dick Festival in New York. The GAIA series, which is conceived as a hybrid audiovisual and digital format, received three awards at Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT from France 3 Nouvelle Aquitaine, Music Library & SFX, S.L. and navarraTV. The transmedia is expected to be produced by the experienced team of El Cañonazo Transmedia with Roger Casas-Alatriste and Martín Cappelletti.
Throughout the interview, Butrón's multidisciplinary background was highlighted. In addition to directing, she has a degree in History, composes music and has experience in the marketing industry. Recently, together with the association of Spanish film directors, ACCIÓN, and the journalist Cristina Gadea, she has written the Creative Rights Guide for Film Directors in Spain. The manual, the first of its kind adapted to the legal and labor context in Spain, was presented in the capital of Gipuzkoa during the San Sebastian Film Festival.

El pasado 25 de enero, Carol Butrón charló con José Manuel Sebastián Campo -Que parezca un accidente, Radio 3- para contar cómo fue recibir el premio a Mejor Cortometraje por FAITH en el festival de Philip K. Dick en Nueva York. El programa ofreció una buena oportunidad a los curiosos para descubrir los entresijos de un rodaje muy especial con localizaciones históricas y en el que participaron niños.“José Manuel hiló muy fino en todas sus preguntas y relató muy bien varios momentos del cortometraje, especialmente los sonoros, que tanto me gustan”, destacó Butrón.
Además de hablar de FAITH (distribuido por MAILUKI FILMS SL), también adelantó algunos detalles del último proyecto que tienen entre manos en AURA Pictures, que colaborará con La Charito Films, con Diego Rodriguez y Coque Serrano. La serie GAIA, que está concebida como un formato híbrido audiovisual y digital, recibió tres premios en Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT de la mano de France 3 Nouvelle Aquitaine, Music Library & SFX, S.L. y navarraTV. Está previsto que el transmedia lo realice el experimentado equipo de El Cañonazo Transmedia con Roger Casas-Alatriste y Martín Cappelletti.
A lo largo de la entrevista se destacó la trayectoria multidisciplinar de Butrón, que además de dirigir es licenciada en Historia, compone música y tiene experiencia en el mundo del marketing. Recientemente ha elaborado de la mano de la asociación de directores y directoras del cine español, ACCIÓN, y junto con la periodista Cristina Gadea la Guía de Derechos Creativos para Directores y Directoras de Cine en España. El manual, el primero de estas características adaptado al contexto legal y laboral de España, se presentó en la capital guipuzcoana durante el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián.
Finalmente, Butrón se mostró “contentísima” de haber pasado por Radio 3: “la entrevista fue muy interesante y divertida... ¡Nos reímos mucho!. Gracias a José Manuel Sebastián y a todo el equipo de Radio3 por esta invitación y espero que volvamos a vernos las caras en el futuro (y en esta dimensión, a ser posible)”.
